Join the more than 1,500 dedicated individuals who help the zoo each year by doing everything from scooping ice cream to scooping of a different sort... cleaning animal exhibits. Help with organization, food service, raffle ticket sales, set-up, or clean-up of our major fund raising events such as:
Zoo Zoom - our foot race and fun run starting at the Zoo and going through Land Park.
King of Feasts - our evening food and wine tasting event.
Ice Cream Safari - our all-you-can-eat ice cream extravaganza.
Wild Affair - our gala dinner, tour, and auction.
Boo at the Zoo - our spook-tacular Halloween event for kids.

Teen Volunteers & Camp Counselors
Teens, ages 15-19, can explore animal-related careers while gaining work experience. As part of our summer camp and year-round Zoo Teen programs, teen volunteers help teach children and families about the animals, the environment and conservation. Sensory Garden, just to mention a few.
Keeper-Aide (Must be 18 years or older)
Qualified volunteers work with keeper staff, cleaning, feeding and maintaining the animal exhibits. Will be working under the direct supervision of zoo keepers, will be working in close proximity to animals – no physical contact will be allowed. Application approval and safety orientation required. Docents are volunteer educators who provide tours, station talks and wildlife wagons for zoo visitors.
