Rescued Ring-tailed Lemur Finds Permanent Home
The Ring-tailed Lemur found in a Turlock backyard has found a permanent home at the Detroit Zoo and will be moving the first week in May.

Star Wars Day: May the Forest Be With You    April 30: 9 am to 4 pm
Meet your favorite Star Wars characters and pose for free photos with costumed characters. Visitors will learn about animal adaptations and the animals will join in on the fun with special Star Wars themed enrichment items.

Nature Explorers          April 30: 10 am to 2 pm
Join the Zoo and the Sacramento Library in an open play environment. We will be reading stories, playing, and exploring the wonders of the natural world with a new topic each month. Recurs the last Saturday of each month.

Spend a morning getting up close and personal with some of the Zoo’s animal ambassadors while enjoying fun filled presentations and activities.

World Turtle Day             May 22: 10 am to 3 pm
Join us for a fun and educational event celebrating World Turtle Day! Stop by the bake sale and activity station near at the Red Panda exhibit to learn about turtles and tortoises! Keeper chats will be scheduled throughout the day.

Is your teddy bear feeling under the weather? We are here to help! A Stuffed Animal Veterinarian will assess the overall health of your stuffed animal and make a diagnosis based on the symptoms. Proceeds benefit Greater Sac AAZK.

Open since 1927, the Sacramento Zoo is home to over 140 native, rare and endangered species and is one of over 200 accredited institutions of the Association of Zoos and Aquariums.  The Zoo is wholly managed by the nonprofit Sacramento Zoological Society and inspires conservation awareness through education and recreation.
