Nature Explores icon

Nature Explorers          September 24: 10 am to 2 pm
Join the Zoo and the Sacramento Library in an open play environment. We will be reading stories, playing, and exploring the wonders of the natural world.

Pokemon Go logo

Pokémon Go Day     September 25: 9 am to 4 pm
With nine Pokéstops and two Gyms on 14 acres, Trainers can do everything at the Zoo. Take advantage of lures set at various Pokéstops inside the Zoo continuously from 9 am to 4 pm.

Zoo Closes Early at 1:30 pm     October 1: 1:30 pm
The Sacramento Zoo will close early at 1:30 pm on Saturday, October 1st to set up for the Wild Affair fundraising gala.

Wild Affair Icon

Wild Affair Gala    October 1: 5 to 10 pm
This annual Gala event includes a delicious full-course gourmet dinner, followed by a silent and live auction with plenty of wine, spirits and endless hors d'oeuvres. Zoo closes early at 1:30 pm.

Local attorney and estate planning specialist Mark S. Drobny will help you navigate through a jungle of topics in this free, informative seminar.

Boo at the Zoo Icon

All New Boo at the Zoo     October 29 & 30: 11 am to 5 pm
Bring the family and experience the all new daytime Boo at the Zoo. Play some ghoulish games, create creepy crafts and trick or treat around the whole Zoo while enjoying all of the animals. This is a ticketed event. Zoo closed for general admission and membership passes both days.

Open since 1927, the Sacramento Zoo is home to over 140 native, rare and endangered species and is one of over 200 accredited institutions of the Association of Zoos and Aquariums.  The Zoo is wholly managed by the nonprofit Sacramento Zoological Society and inspires conservation awareness through education and recreation.
