Little Peeps - Spring & Fall
The Little Peeps classes are 2-hours long and designed for 3 to 5 year-olds with a caregiver. Each class will focus on a different theme and is packed with fun crafts, games, music, and more. Little Peeps will also enjoy a special visit with one of our animal ambassadors
Little Peeps - Summer
Each Little Peepes summer class is 2 hours long, 9:30 to 11:30 am, and designed for 3 to 5 year-olds with a caregiver. Little Peeps will gather around for story time and make a take-home craft. During the class, we will visit one of our animal ambassadors
. Class themes are the same for the whole week and you register for one class per week: Tuesday, Wednesday, Thursday or Friday.
Each class will focus on a different theme and is packed with fun crafts, games, music, special visits with our animal ambassadors, keeper talks and animal enrichment opportunities.
- Red (Kindergarten, half day)
Red classes are Monday – Friday, 9:00 am to 12:00 pm, and are for students entering kindergarten in the fall.
- Yellow (1st – 2nd, half day)
Yellow classes are Monday – Friday, 9:00 am to 12:00 pm, and are for students entering 1st or 2nd grade in the fall.
- Green (1st – 2nd, full day)
Green classes are Monday – Friday, 9:00 am to 4:00 pm, and are for students entering 1st or 2nd grade in the fall.
- Blue (3rd – 4th, full day)
Blue classes are Monday – Friday, 9:00 am to 4:00 pm, and are for students entering 3rd or 4th grade in the fall.
- Purple (5th – 6th, full day)
Purple classes are Monday – Friday, 9:00 am to 4:00 pm, and are for students entering 5th or 6th grade in the fall.
Winter at the Zoo is unlike any other time of year! Whether you love our summer camp or are new to the zoo and want to try our programs, we hope you will join us for this one day mini-camp! Campers will explore the zoo, learn about the animals, participate in games and crafts and even get up close and personal with some of our animal ambassadors!
Adult and Teen Classes
- Zoo Quest: 7th - 9th
7th through 9th graders who are ready for the next level experience at the Zoo will love these in-depth classes! We offer single day career classes with hands-on experience and a 3-day class ending in an overnight camp-out at the Zoo!
- Roots & Shoots - Teen Volunteers
Teens! Join our Roots & Shoots Zoo Teen program and volunteer with our education department as a summer camp counselor or on conservation projects throughout the year. If you love animals, and are motivated to make a difference in the environment, the Sacramento Zoo is the place for you!

Cancellation and Session Changes
We understand that plans may change. If your camper is no longer able to attend the class(es) you signed up for please review our cancellation and session change policies page, print out the appropriate form and send it to our Reservation Specialist.
After care is offered as a courtesy to parents. Camp ends at 4:00 pm, and any activities after that time are unstructured and include playing games and watching movies. After care is only available for full-day classes.
