I Heart Sacramento Zoo
Family friendly Valentine's event run by Zoo Teens
WHAT'S HAPPENING: Bring your Valentine to “I Heart Sacramento Zoo,” organized by the Sacramento Zoo Teen volunteers. The event features Valentine-themed animal enrichments (made by the Zoo Teens with the help of Zoo visitors), informative talks and free activity tables – all included with general admission.
Scheduled enrichments will include scented Valentine cards for the lemurs and a special piñata for Val-lynn-tine, the Zoo’s giraffe, as she celebrates her 18th birthday. Keepers and Zoo Teens will be present during each enrichment to give information and answer questions about the animals. Don’t miss this opportunity to see the animals enjoy their treats.
Zoo Teens are 13 to19 year-old youth who are wild about animals, the earth and the community. As a Zoo volunteer, they learn about animals, interact with the public and gain confidence in public speaking. Zoo Teens volunteer on weekends August through May and must maintain a 2.75 grade point average in school.
WHERE: Sacramento Zoo, at the corner of Land Park Dr. and Sutterville Rd. in William Land Park.
WHEN: Sunday, February 10th, from 9 am to 4 pm.
