Sacramento Area Museum Day – ½ priced admission
With 26 museums and local destinations participating in this celebratory year, the 20th Annual Sacramento Museum Day takes place on Saturday, February 3. The special day is highlighted by 26 local museums opening their doors for free or half-priced admission to the community. Most of the museums will offer free admission whereas two destinations located in residential areas – the Sacramento Zoo and Fairytale Town – will offer half-priced admission to offset parking and traffic control costs.
Wells Fargo Wednesdays
Thanks to the generous support of Wells Fargo, the first Wednesday of each month is Wells Fargo Wednesday! Up to four children ages 2-11 will receive free admission to the Sacramento Zoo with a paid adult.

Bring the family to the Sacramento Zoo for the most comfortable Christmas tradition, you don’t even have to change out of your pajamas! From 10 a.m. to 1:30 p.m. on Christmas Eve, zoo admission is free for the whole family. Wear your best PJs and spend your holidays with the animals at the Sacramento Zoo.

In addition to being able to visit the zoo as often as desired, you no longer have the concern of staying for a certain time period to get your money’s worth. Drop by for a morning walk, a quick lunch, or an afternoon of play, and then bring everyone back for a weekend event. Membership includes admission to the zoo all year, free or reduced admission to over 150 Association of Zoos and aquariums partnering zoos and aquariums, access to member-only events, great deals on special event tickets, and more!
The Sacramento Zoo strives to provide an outdoor educational experience to children of all ages regardless of their economic level. We offer many ways for children to foster an understanding and appreciation of wildlife through ZooMobiles which bring the zoo to your classroom and summer camp. In an effort to continue to reach this goal, we proudly offer several grants to qualifying schools and families to allow them to experience the zoo.
