At the Sacramento Zoo, it’s all about the animals! More than 500 native, rare and endangered animals call our zoo home. Representing more than 120 unique species, the animals at the Sacramento Zoo are sure to amaze and inspire visitors of all ages.
The trio of female lemurs born on May 23 are now large enough to be on exhibit with the whole family. Black and white ruffed lemurs are Critically Endangered and are native to Madagascar.
In addition to her daily care, zookeepers and veterinarians have been providing Goody, the giraffe, treatments for arthritis and a chronic joint abnormality in her front left fetlock. Read part five of a series documenting her treatment.Read the Goody Update
Six flamingo chicks have hatched at the Sacramento Zoo between June 28 and July 30 and are being hand-reared until they are large enough to join the flock. See them daily at 10:30 am at the vet hospital!See the Flamingo Chicks
