3930 West Land Park Drive,
WE’RE DOING OUR PART
We are dedicated to leaving the world a better place through our commitment to local and global wildlife conservation efforts. Every time you visit the Sacramento Zoo, you are helping us make a difference.
Eleven Western Pond Turtles hatched at the Sacramento Zoo in 2016. Weighing only five to six grams at hatching, they play important roles as animal ambassadors at the Zoo, aiding in our commitment to the species.
Every day the Sacramento Zoo feeds pounds of browse (non-toxic branches and leaves from specific species of trees and shrubs). You can help! When you trim your trees, check if they can be donated to feed the animals.
Waste stations were set up in the café and staff were trained to sort trash, recycling and food waste. Leftover food that is usually thrown in the trash is diverted to an anaerobic digester and turned into clean natural gas.
