Bushy Lake is an 86-acre site located in Sacramento that provides a vital laboratory for high-impact faculty-student research, citizen science, and community engagement. One of the native animals of priority is the Western Pond Turtle. The project works to protect, enhance, and restore sustainable habitat for the species.

Rafael Crespo was a lead biologist for the University of Florida dedicating his life’s work to protecting the environment and wildlife in South Florida. The fund supports aspiring biologists and ecologists by providing opportunities to advance their careers in crocodilian conservation.
