Fall Class Topics

This fall, we will focus on animal adaptations and how they help animals survive in the wild!

Animal Coverings: September 21, 22

Have you ever wondered why different animals have different types of skin and coverings? From feathers to fur, we will explore these animal coverings and learn how they help the animals who wear them.

Protection: September 27, 28, 29

How would you protect yourself out in the wild? Would you wear a heavy shell or some spikes? Come learn how animals around the world protect themselves!

Camouflage and Colors: October 4, 5, 6

Some animals are brightly colored and others like to blend in. This week we will learn how coloring helps animals survive in the wild, and explore the colors here in the zoo!

Yucky Stuff: October 11, 12, 13

Animals are not always as clean as we think, but some go above and beyond to be extra yucky! From animals who cover themselves in rotten food to scare away predators, to animals who use poop to attract their food, come learn about these stinky and yucky creatures here at the zoo!

Feet: October 19, 20

Have you ever noticed a duck’s webbed feet or seen the hooves on a giraffe? Explore with us why all these animal feet are so different and find out how those adaptations assist animals in the wild.

Beaks and Talons: October 26, 27

Birds of prey are specialized birds that carry their forks and knives with them all the time! There is no need for silverware when you have sharp talons and beaks! Join us to learn all about these powerful tools and see some up close!

We love Little Peeps! The staff are wonderful and my son learns and retains so much from every class. Meeting the animals is a very special experience for both my son and I. It was wonderful to see my son be able to learn and have fun in a safe environment - he loves participating!
