Little Peeps has filled for the Spring Season
Spring SESSION
Wednesdays: March 2, 9, 16, 23, 30, April 6
Thursdays: March 3, 10, 17, 24, 31, April 7
Spring Class Topics
This spring we will be hosting special Little Peeps classes for the little dinosaur experts in Sacramento! Each class will focus both on dinosaurs and animals here at the zoo with similar adaptations. We will start in March with an overview of dinosaurs to get excited for the ones here at the zoo! Then we will take a closer look at dino defenses and dinosaur family groups, and how they used their adaptations, together and alone, to survive on earth.
Discover Dinosaurs: March 2 & 3
Dinosaurs have arrived at the Sacramento Zoo! Join us for a special Little Peeps class learning about what a dinosaur is, meeting our dinosaurs here on grounds, and going around to see them up close.
Dino Defenses: Size: March 9 & 10
One of the most exciting things about dinosaurs is their size! Join us as we take in just how big dinosaurs were and how that size helped them to survive. We will also learn about how size, big or small, helps animals alive today survive in their habitats!
Dino Defenses: Horns: March 16 & 17
This week will focus on the triceratops with its mighty horns! We will learn how horns and antlers have helped animals defend themselves throughout history and look at some animals with horns that are alive today!
Dino Defenses: Armor and Club tails: March 23 & 24
Some dinosaurs wore their defenses with special armor built right into their bodies, like the stegosaurus! We will learn how this helped them and look closely at the stegosaurus and gastonia here at the zoo with their armor and big tails! We may even meet an animal here at the zoo with its own club tail!
Dino Defenses: Teeth and Claws: March 30 & 31
The most recognizable defense of all predators are their teeth and claws. This week in Little Peeps we will learn about dinosaurs with impressive teeth like the T-Rex as well as see some teeth and claws in action here at the zoo!
Dino Families: April 6 & 7
Dinosaurs, just like animals today, had a variety of different social groups. Do they live in families? Are they solitary? This week we will explore the group dynamics of a few of the dinosaurs at the zoo and meet some zoo animals that like to live the same way!
Little Peeps has filled for the Spring Season
Please do not come to class if you feel ill. Contact the Reservations department at 916-808-8445 if anyone in your party has COVID-19 symptoms and is unable to attend class.
- Masks must be worn by all kids and all adults at all times during the class (even outside).
- All hands will be sanitized upon entering the classroom, each time we come from outside.
- Students and parents will be distanced from each other inside as much as the classroom allows.
- Animal encounters and enrichment will occur outside.
- The zoo will not be providing a snack, but time will be allotted for guests to eat snacks they bring from home, outside only, while socially distanced.
- All classroom surfaces will be disinfected prior to the class starting for the day, and immediately following the end of class at 11:30 am.
Little Peeps waitlist is full.
If a class is full and you wish to put your child on a wait list, you can find that by going to the wait list.
- Fill out the information on the waitlist form and hit Submit.
- Do not refresh the page – that will re-submit the same wait list request that you just submitted. If you are putting multiple campers on the wait list, you need to follow the link again to the wait list.
What does it mean when my child is “waitlisted”?
If your child has been wait listed for the class, it means that the class is full and you are on the list to be contacted when an opening becomes available. If an opening becomes available, you will be contacted via phone and email to see if you are still interested in the class. Once you are contacted, you will have 48 hours to contact the reservation specialist to take advantage of the opening. If there is no response from the phone and email inquiry after 48 hours, the next person on the list will be contacted and offered the opening. You will not be removed from the wait list, and will be contacted again if another spots opens.
We recommend that if you are interested in a class, always put your child on the free wait list. No matter where they fall on the wait list, there is still a possibility that they will get into the class. If your availability changes and you are no longer interested in the class, please email our Registration Specialist so we can remove that class from your child’s registration.
There are no refunds for cancellations unless the program is cancelled by the Sacramento Zoo. Contact the Reservations department to inquire about a session transfer, pending availability. A $5 session transfer fee may be required.

Can I bring my younger child to the Little Peeps class with me?
Siblings and other children are not allowed into the classes unless they are restricted to a stroller or a carrier with the big buddy at all times. We are in a small space and want our Little Peeps participants to be able to fully enjoy the class!
Can more than one adult attend the Little Peeps class with one child?
Due to COVID restrictions, we strongly recommend only one adult accompanying registered children, especially when classes are being held indoors, however up to two adults may attend per registered child.

There can be one caregiver for up to two registered little peeps.

I add the class(es) to my cart, but my items disappeared when I went to pay?
Little Peeps is a highly demanded event and sells out fast! If you went to check out and your items have disappeared, it is mainly due to those spots being sold out and no longer available.
