Field Trips
For a memorable field trip, bring your class to the Sacramento Zoo. Start by reserving your field trip, including tours and other special programs to enhance your visit. Advanced reservations are required for special group rates and programs. Many dates fill up quickly. Make your reservations now! Once you’ve reserved your trip, check our planning page to help make your visit a success.

Offsite Programs
Want the Zoo to come to you? We offer a variety of presentations with or without live animals for your classroomorganization, or senior group.

Discover which animals take over the night shift and see what happens when they have the Zoo all to themselves! Grab your tent and sleeping bags and bring your family or group to spend the night at the Zoo.

If you want to sleep in your own bed and still enjoy all the nighttime Zoo has to offer, try a Starlight Safari Educational Adventure or Birthday Party.

Classes and Camps
We offer fun and educational classes throughout the year. Whether you are interested in our award-wining Summer Classes or Little Peeps classes for preschoolers throughout the year, the Sacramento Zoo is a great place for all ages to learn and grow!

Girl Scout Badge Earning Days
Spend a morning getting up close and personal with some of the Zoo’s animal ambassadors while enjoying fun filled presentations and activities. You’ll also be able to explore the entire zoo and complete your badge, try it, or journey!

Nature Explorers
Join the Zoo and the Sacramento Library in an open play environment, the last Saturday of the month anytime between 10 am to 2 pm. We will be reading stories, playing, and exploring the wonders of the natural world with a new topic each month. Activities are included with Zoo admission.

Senior Programs
Bring your active senior group to the Zoo and enjoy a guided tour. We offer general tours year round, except May and June. On select Mondays in the spring and fall, join us for a pleasant cup of tea and an interesting guided tour of the Sacramento Zoo with our Senior Tea and Tour program.

Teacher Resources
Teachers: Your Zoo’s education department has a myriad of resources, all designed to help you teach your students about animals and the natural world! Find everything you need to get the most out of your field trip including: self-guided tour ideas, educational programs, and classroom activities. For your classroom, we offer several kits and workshops designed to enhance your science lessons. Visit our teacher resources page to learn more!

Teen Volunteers - Roots & Shoots
Teens! Join our Roots & Shoots Zoo Teen program and volunteer with our education department as a summer camp counselor or on conservation projects throughout the year. If you love animals, and are motivated to make a difference in the environment, the Sacramento Zoo is the place for you!
