The Sacramento Zoo is a favorite destination for families with children in the Sacramento region and a magnet for animal lovers. Companies that sponsor exhibits demonstrate their corporate social responsibility initiatives to hundreds of thousands of households in Sacramento. The zoo provides fun, engaging and inspirational experiences with animals. Along with increased efforts in research and conservation comes the need to expand public understanding of and passion for wildlife and the environment. Today, all the zoo’s exhibits convey important messages about species conservation and what visitors can do to help us fulfill our mission to save species.
Sponsorship of an exhibit is a unique way to promote and display your company’s name. Several exhibits with optimal visibility through public demonstrations and foot traffic are currently available for sponsorship.
From lemurs to lions and great hornbills to gibbons, there are sponsorships ranging from $1,000 annual sponsors to $1,000,000 permanent naming opportunities.
The Sacramento Zoo’s events have become a tradition for thousands of guests each year. Guests enjoy the added excitement of visiting the zoo during an event. These events present a unique opportunity for corporate sponsors to engage with guests against the incredible backdrop of the zoo.
Events at the Sacramento Zoo are some of our most popular corporate sponsorship opportunities. Benefits may include: Logo/name recognition on in-park banners, programs, media buys, invitations and print advertising to booth space from which sponsors can interact with guests. There are also opportunities for product sampling and giveaways. Sponsorship levels range depending on the event attendance and promotional support. Included are brief descriptions of each event.
Proud to be a leader in education, the Sacramento Zoo is home to educational programs that support learning outcomes for many schools in the Sacramento region and are aligned with federal and state curricula. The zoo is proud of its ongoing conservation activities and educational programs servicing nearly 71,000 students, teachers, and chaperones annually. These include programs on grounds to the general zoo visitor as well as K-12 programs that meet California math and science standards.
The zoo encourages companies to get involved by underwriting these important educational offerings or by providing credible cause-related sponsorships. Education is a primary focus for the zoo, and with the help of the Sacramento corporate community, we can teach our children to love and care for the natural resources of our city and planet. Below is a selection of premier sponsorship opportunities available to businesses, organizations and sponsors looking to align themselves with education, conservation and the family-centric programming the zoo delivers.
Focusing on our 3-5-year-old demographic, Little Peeps classes include mini lessons, fun crafts, stories, songs, animal encounters, and activity ideas to continue learning fun at home. In its 10th year of production Little Peeps impacts 500 kids each year.
Engaging local teens between the ages of 13-19 years old who are interested in animals, the earth and our community. The program teaches teens to develop their own ideals, views and passions along with encouraging zoo patrons to become better stewards of the Earth. Zoo teens are constantly learning and honing in their skills with public speaking, and are taught confidence and initiative. They are encouraged and supported to excel in school and the workplace and even have their own board of directors.
Reaching more than 10,000 students annually in the Sacramento and surrounding areas, the ZooMobile has been bringing live animals to pre-K through 12th grade classrooms, community center or libraries for the last 30+ years. Our education specialist will even create specialized programs to fit a teachers objectives.
With 30+ years of success, both summer and winter camps reach 1,000’s of K thru 9th graders each year. Focusing on meeting the California State Science Framework for all grades, this unique nighttime adventure allows students to explore the nighttime zoo. Interactive, live animal programming highlighting adaptations animals use in the wild, and educational focuses on pelts, skulls and other animal biofacts are some of what’s to expect.
Corporate support provides opportunities for more than 50,000 adults and children each year to either travel to The Sacramento Zoo on a field trip or participate in zoo-sponsored programs and classes to learn more about the natural world and the Sacramento Zoo’s animal conservation mission. The schools in our community continue to face shrinking budgets and often the first items to be cut from the budget are field trips. For many students in the public school system, coming to the zoo on a field trip is the only opportunity they have to visit the zoo.
Imagine your company’s name on an exhibit, pavilion, or train and your company’s name on the zoo’s map, collateral material, or website. For a minimal cost per day, thousands of visitors to the zoo will see your company’s name and know that you support one of the most important educational and cultural institutions in the region. Your company will also benefit from being affiliated with the zoo’s conservation and environmental efforts.
Street & Lamppost Banners
What better way to gain marketing exposure than to sponsor the highly visible banners within zoo grounds? More than 20 banner positions are available leading down the zoo’s walkway to and from the main area of exhibits. An excellent opportunity for a company looking to reach a maximum number of visitor impressions.
Zoo Train & Station Naming Opportunity
A staple attraction for the last 10 years and the zoo’s first attraction, 50,000 guest enjoy a train ride each year. Each of the train cars provides an open air ride that the guests will never forget in unique hand-painted cars. The sponsor can select one of the cars to display their logo. The sponsor will receive naming rights to the train ride with their name and logo featured throughout the station. The sponsor’s name will also be featured on the zoo map and any mention of the zoo train.
Directional Signage & Zoo Maps
Directional signs inside the zoo guide our guests and enhance the overall experience. Your message on a directional sign can build awareness of your product or service. At the same time it generates multiple impressions during and even after a visit to the park.
