Hop, skip, and jump to the Sacramento Zoo as it blooms with egg-cellent Easter fun including age-specific egg hunts, colorful crafts, animal enrichments, and goody bags. As you walk the zoo look high and low as a family to see if you can spot the emerald green emu eggs and do not forget to watch a stage show or visit a keeper chat to learn about the roles eggs play in the animal world.

All included with general zoo admission making this a great bargain!

Emu egg scavenger hunt – count the emerald green emu eggs in the zoo and then turn in your guess

10 am – Reptile House Keeper Chat
10:30 am – Pelican Keeper Chat
11 am – Wildlife Stage Show
1:30 pm – Wildlife Stage Show
2:15 pm – Burrowing Owl Keeper Chat
2:30 pm – Hornbill Keeper Chat
2:45 pm – Flamingo Keeper Chat

Scheduled Egg Hunts

*Space is extremely limited, please register for a hunt upon entering the zoo

2 year-olds & under: 10 am or 12:30 pm
3 – 4 year-olds: 10:30 am or 1 pm
5 – 6 year-olds: 11 am or 1:30 pm
7 – 9 year-olds: 11:30 am or 2 pm
10 – 12 year-olds: 12 pm or 2:30 pm

  • Don’t forget to bring an egg basket/bag to hunt with
  • Younger children who miss their hunt may enter an older aged hunt (space allowing), but older kids may not participate in a lower age groups’ hunts
  • Please only hunt once
  • Eggs will be turned in at the prize tents after each hunt and every child who participates will receive a goody bag
