Sacramento Zoo closed temporarily due to coronavirus precautions
Out of an abundance of caution and with the recommended guidelines set forth by the State of California, the Sacramento Zoo is temporarily closed to visitors.
During this closure, a limited number of essential staff, including animal care and veterinary teams, as well as zoo security, will report to work as usual to maintain the health and wellbeing of our animals and the safety and security of our facility.
Zoo leadership is continuing to monitor, re-evaluate and follow the directives and guidance of the Sacramento County Public Health Department, the Centers for Disease Control and the World Health Organization as new information is shared.
We understand that the temporary closure may pose an inconvenience for zoo visitors, and we apologize for any disruption in plans this may cause. We will continue to update our website and social media platforms regularly as this situation evolves. Thank you, our community, for your support.
Please donate to the emergency fund to help feed and care for the animals during the zoo closure. Your generous support is critical – now more than ever!
